35th death anniversary of Rajiv Gandhi observed at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati

On the occasion of the 35th death anniversary of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna late Rajiv Gandhi, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) today paid rich tributes to the late leader at Rajiv Bhawan in Guwahati. A solemn memorial program was organized on the premises of Rajiv Bhawan to mark the occasion.
The event was attended by Assam Pradesh Congress Committee President Gaurav Gogoi, former President Ripun Bora, office-bearers of the Pradesh Congress, representatives from the Guwahati City District Congress Committee, along with a large number of senior party leaders and workers. Everyone paid their respectful homage by offering floral tributes at the portrait of the late leader.
Speakers present at the memorial service fondly recalled the visionary leadership of Rajiv Gandhi. In their addresses, they highlighted his invaluable contribution towards building a modern India by ushering in the Information Technology (IT) and telecommunications revolution. Furthermore, the party leadership remembered his supreme sacrifice to protect the unity and integrity of the nation. The speakers emphasized that Rajiv Gandhi’s ideals, thoughts, and welfare-oriented vision continue to inspire the youth of the country today.
Several leaders and workers of the party, including senior leader and former minister Abu Saleh Najmuddin, Pradesh Congress General Secretaries Bipul Gogoi, Pradyut Bhuyan, Ramanna Baruwa, and Arun Tiwari, former MLA Ashok Sarma, and senior Congress leader Balika Lahan Pegu attended the memorial programme.
