Veer Bal Diwas observes with solemnity and reverence by the Sikh community in Haflong

In observance of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and in remembrance of the remarkable sacrifices made by Sahibzada Fateh Singh and Sahibzada Zorawar Singh, the younger sons of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the Sikh community of Haflong observed Veer Bal Diwas with solemnity and reverence. The event was a celebration of their unwavering spirit and commitment to the country, religion, and humanity. Both dignitaries and members of the community attended the ceremony, which was held at the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Haflong.

After a peaceful rally, there were a number of events, such as kirtans, prayers, and ardas (a Sikh prayer). Discussions honoring the bravery and unshakable faith of Sahibzada Fateh Singh and Sahibzada Zorawar Singh, who resisted religious persecution throughout the Mughal era, were also included in the event. Their unwavering faith in the face of death, despite their young age, continues to inspire generations. Gyani Kuljeet Singh, a Sikh community representative, and Nirmal Singh, the secretary of the Sri Guru Singh Sabha, discussed the sacrifices made by the ten Sikh Gurus.

As they urged commitment to the principles of justice and service to mankind, they wished the people of Dima Hasao peace, prosperity, and happiness. Every year on December 26, Veer Bal Diwas is celebrated as a celebration of the Sikh Gurus’ teachings and the great bravery of the Sahibzadas. Sahibzada Zorawar Singh Ji and Sahibzada Fateh Singh Ji, who were imprisoned and under duress to surrender their faith, are especially remembered on this day for their martyrdom.
