The Assam cabinet allocates land for track doubling and approves funds for 3 polytechnics

The Assam cabinet has approved the Railways’ request to acquire eight bighas of property in order to double the track length in the Azara-Kamakhya segment via Goalpara. This is a noteworthy milestone. The decision was made to build a double lane connecting Guwahati City to the southern bank of the Brahmaputra River. The revalidation of an administrative approval for Rs 150 crore, which is intended to be utilized for the construction of three polytechnics in Hajo, Majuli, and Tingkhong, was also approved by the state cabinet.

Furthermore, the cabinet approved the hiring of 451 part-time faculty members to various polytechnics and engineering colleges around the state. The Railways have been given seven bighas of land under Jalukbari mouza and one bigha under Chakardo mouza, according to Cabinet Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah.
