Students in Silchar, Assam found themselves embroiled in frustration and disappointment as they were denied access to their much-awaited results due to an unfortunate administrative error. The turmoil unfolded mere hours after the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) proudly unveiled the results of the AHSEC Class 12 examinations online today, garnering widespread commendation for their seamless execution of the process. However, the jubilation was short-lived as reports emerged from Silchar, tarnishing the council’s reputation with questions raised about its efficiency. Institutions like Ramanuj Gupta Senior Secondary School, GC College, and Holy Cross HS School bore the brunt of this oversight, triggering a wave of anger among students and educators.
Purnadeep Chanda, Principal of Ramanuj Senior Secondary School, expressed both satisfaction with their overall results and dismay at the unprecedented glitch this time around. He revealed that students’ mark sheets for the English examination in the science stream incorrectly marked them as absent, plunging them into a state of distress. Parents and students alike voiced their dismay at this critical lapse, with one distressed parent lamenting, “It’s deeply disappointing to see such a crucial aspect of our children’s education mishandled. We hope the authorities rectify this swiftly to alleviate the anxiety among students and families.”
Meanwhile, school authorities have taken proactive steps to resolve the issue, planning to liaise with the Council promptly. “We are in constant communication with the Council and are gathering necessary documentation to present our case. We intend to approach the Council tonight after collecting attendance records from Cachar College, the examination center,” affirmed the principal.
