Shri Jayant Chaudhary, Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent Charge), Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), underscored the urgency of lifelong learning in the era of rapid technological advancement during the SKILLS Bridge Masterclass today. The event, jointly organized by NSDC, ILO, World Bank, and UNESCO, focused on the theme “AI-Powered Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) for a Future Ready Workforce.”
In his keynote address, Shri Jayant Chaudhary emphasized the pivotal role of digital infrastructure in fostering collaborative learning models. He stated, “In the Fourth Industrial Revolution, skills acquired today may become obsolete tomorrow. Embracing lifelong learning is not just imperative but an absolute necessity.” He highlighted the Government of India’s commitment to creating an ecosystem conducive to lifelong learning.The event showcased the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH) as a pioneering initiative revolutionizing skill development through digital public infrastructure. Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO, NSDC and MD, NSDC International, along with Ms. Shreshtha Gupta, CTO, NSDC & NSDC International, demonstrated SIDH’s capabilities to international delegates. The platform integrates swift registration and AI-powered job exchanges to bridge skill gaps effectively.
During a panel discussion, dignitaries like Dr. Haja Ramatulai Wurie from Sierra Leone and Mr. Ruben Sargsyan from Armenia highlighted the potential of digital platforms in enhancing skill development amidst challenges like limited digital access. They emphasized collaborative efforts with governments and private sectors to foster economic inclusivity and upskill youth.In Kolkata, stakeholders are eager for SIDH to catalyze skill development across various sectors, envisioning enhanced employability and economic growth through advanced digital learning tools.The event concluded with a focus on India’s leadership in global skills transformation, positioning SIDH as a scalable model for sustainable, inclusive growth.
