Shalini Passi says she got married at 20, had a son at 21, but had one important condition for a husband: ‘He had to…’

Shalini Passi rose to fame after her appearance on the Netflix show, Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives Season 3. She was the new entry on the show along with Kalyani Chawla and Riddhima Kapoor.

Shalini Passi became an overnight sensation after debuting on Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives. Season 3 of the Netflix show began with a fabulous ball hosted by the diva, who stole the entire show with her maximalist look and YOLO attitude. It was only after this show that people became interested in her life.

Over the past few months, the Delhi diva has given several interviews sharing details about her life and love story. During these interviews, she shared an interesting thing about how she got married at the age of 20, while she was still in college. Now, in a new interview, Shalini shared that she has no regrets about getting married at a young age. In fact, she called it “the greatest move made by the universe.”

Shalini Pasi had an arranged marriage with PASCO Group owner Sanjay Pasi. His family saw Shalini at her school friend’s wedding. They were impressed by the 20-year-old’s beauty and spoke to her parents the same evening, who also attended the wedding. Just like that, their marriage was fixed.

Speaking to Mojo Story, Shalini said, “It was a very good move by the universe because I had a lot of energy and enthusiasm at that time. What happens with women later in their lives, that energy and recovery is very different. When you are young, you recover quickly. I became a mother at the age of 21. Since I was young, I would get more excited than I should have been when I took my son to a toy store. It was like I was almost living my life upside down.”

However, Shalini had a condition before agreeing to the arranged marriage. “I told my parents that I didn’t want my son to drink, smoke and gamble,” Shalini said. “I was brought up by my grandparents who were strictly against smoking and drinking. They wouldn’t even keep a pack of cards at home. That’s what I grew up seeing, so I had this condition,” she said.

“When I told my mother this, she said ‘Sure, good luck’. But then I got Sanjay. My father couldn’t believe it when his family told him that Sanjay wasn’t fond of drinking and smoking. He thought they were lying”, said Shalini.

After getting married at a young age, Shalini had the challenge of adjusting herself to society. From growing up in a household where ‘high thinking, simple living’ was valued the most, to being part of a family that hosted parties and feasts. Shalini went through a major transformation and “mastered the art of hosting” after people in society questioned her abilities.

Shalini is known for her love for the arts. She sings, dances and does philanthropic work.
