PVL Season 3: Delhi Toofans dominate the Kolkata Thunderbolts to secure a Super 5s place

In the third season of the Prime Volleyball League at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in this city, the Delhi Toofans defeated the Kolkata Thunderbolts with a commanding 15-9, 16-14, and 17-15 victory. Delhi’s offense was started on both ends by Santhosh, who was awarded Player of the Match, and Amal thanks to passes from setter Saqlain, who continued to be the mainstay of the team’s strategy.
Referring to his dependable middleman Danial Aponza, Saqlain faced a threat from Ashwal Rai and Vinit Kumar. But until Lazar Dodic’s spikes gave the Toofans the early lead, Vinit’s relentless swings had Kolkata chasing Delhi.

Delhi’s offensive options were demonstrated by Anu James’s impactful spike and the subsequent super serve. However, Vinit’s commanding presence gave Delhi’s defense no break. Kolkata’s defense was energized by a two-man block spearheaded by Arjun Nath. Aayush’s incredible block helped Delhi put an end to Kolkata’s efforts, giving the Toofans the upper hand. However, Amit’s involvement in attacks provided Kolkata additional alternatives.
While Delhi’s relentless Santhosh continued to attack, Kolkata’s dreams of a comeback were rekindled by the tremendous serves of Amit and Deepak Kumar. The Thunderbolts advanced thanks to Ashwal Rai’s middle-of-the-field spikes. However, Delhi’s risk in requesting a super point paid off, as Dodic’s miraculous touch gave his team two points, and the Toofans won the match in simple sets.
