Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Ltd (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has announced a groundbreaking achievement in automotive safety. The company’s Punch.ev and Nexon.ev electric vehicles have both secured 5-star safety ratings from Bharat-NCAP, setting new benchmarks in the industry.The Punch.ev distinguished itself by earning the highest scores ever recorded by Bharat-NCAP, with 31.46/32 points for adult occupant protection (AOP) and 45/49 points for child occupant protection (COP). The Nexon.ev also demonstrated exceptional safety, scoring 29.86/32 for AOP and 44.95/49 for COP. These accomplishments make Tata Motors the only original equipment manufacturer (OEM) with an SUV portfolio that has achieved 5-star ratings in both Bharat-NCAP and Global-NCAP tests.

Since its launch, the Punch.ev has attracted a diverse customer base, including over 35% from rural markets. With advanced features typically found in higher-end segments, the Punch.ev has sold over 10,000 units. The Nexon.ev, credited with kickstarting India’s EV revolution, has sold over 68,000 units since 2020, reinforcing its status as a market leader. Both models come equipped with comprehensive safety features, including six airbags, electronic stability programs, and blind spot monitoring, ensuring unparalleled protection for drivers and passengers.
