The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) has partnered with Britannia Industries to launch the Women Entrepreneurship Program. This program addresses the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs by providing essential skills, knowledge, and networking opportunities.The initiative introduces free self-learning basic entrepreneurship courses on the Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), available in multiple languages. Successful participants will receive a co-branded certificate from NSDC, Britannia Industries, and the National Institute for Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD). This program aspires to empower around 25 lakh women across India, equipping them with the necessary tools to launch and grow successful businesses.
Highlighting the program’s impact, Shri Atul Kumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, emphasized the importance of such collaborations in advancing women’s entrepreneurial skills. Similarly, Shri Ved Mani Tiwari, COO of NSDC, underscored the alignment of this initiative with the Prime Minister’s vision for women development, noting significant progress in women’s participation in various skill development programs.
Britannia’s CEO, Shri Rajneet Singh Kohli, expressed the company’s commitment to breaking down barriers for aspiring women entrepreneurs, enhancing their ability to innovate and lead in the economy.The launch of the Women Entrepreneurship Program is expected to have a significant impact on regional markets, including Guwahati. By empowering local women with entrepreneurial skills, the initiative aims to boost small business ventures in Guwahati, fostering economic growth and diversity in the market. Enhanced support and resources from programs like these can transform the entrepreneurial landscape in cities like Guwahati, encouraging more women to start and sustain their businesses.The program’s grand finale will see the top 50 contestants present their business ideas to a distinguished jury, with Britannia Industries awarding financial grants of ₹10 lakh each to 10 of the most promising entrepreneurs.
