Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve saw a significant increase in tourism this year

Travelers and wildlife enthusiasts are still enthralled by Kaziranga National Park & Tiger Reserve (KNP&TR), which has seen a notable increase in visitation this year. The number of domestic visitors to the park climbed from 1.24 lakh in 2014–15 to 3.88 lakh in 2024–25. Famous for its stunning scenery, abundant wildlife, and famous residents like the one-horned rhinoceros, Kaziranga has become a popular vacation spot for families and wildlife enthusiasts. Kaziranga National Park has celebrated a historic occasion in the last two years by welcoming His Excellency, King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck of Bhutan.

In addition, Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the first prime minister to visit the area since it was designated a national park in 1974 on March 9, 2024. On February 24, 2025, Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar visited the park with 60 heads of mission from different nations as part of the Advantage Assam 2.0 project, highlighting its importance on a global scale. With Assam and Kaziranga recently ranked as two of the top “Must See” attractions by The New York Times, Kaziranga has earned its spot among the world’s most popular tourist destinations. Additionally, the Assam government has made eco-friendly travel to Kaziranga a priority and has promised in the latest budget that EV safari cars will be rewarded.
