GMC to Impose Charges for Unattended Materials Left on Public Roads

The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has announced that it will begin charging people who leave materials stocked on the roadside. GMC Commissioner M.N. Dahal issued a notice on October 25, stating that if someone leaves something unattended in public and doesn’t find it there the next day, they are likely to be taken and charged to give it back.

Dahal urged citizens to avoid leaving construction materials, goods, and other items on public pathways, as such practices not only block walkways and roads but also create a negative impression of the city. The 5th Guwahati Cyclothon-2024 is set for November 3, and the CBI is set to interrogate an Assam trading scam alleged in Guwahati.
