Flipkart, in partnership with the Assam Project on Forests & Biodiversity Conservation (APFBC), conducted a workshop on January 20 at Aranya Bhawan, Guwahati, aimed at empowering Assam’s entrepreneurs, artisans, and weavers through digital platforms. The workshop was part of the Buyer-Seller Meet 2025, themed “Developing Market Linkages for Products Made by Forest Communities,” and introduced Flipkart’s Samarth program to local businesses.
The event focused on equipping participants with tools and knowledge to access PAN-India markets. Entrepreneurs, including bamboo and wooden product makers, gained insights into product listing, e-commerce strategies, and logistics. APFBC’s onboarding as a Flipkart Samarth partner is expected to provide a sustainable livelihood to Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and Cluster Level Federations (CLFs).
For Dibrugarh, a hub for Assam’s tea and handicraft industries, the partnership presents an opportunity to expand market reach. Products such as handcrafted bamboo items and traditional textiles can now access nationwide consumers, adding a modern dimension to the region’s traditional economy. Speaking on the collaboration, Flipkart’s Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Mr. Rajneesh Kumar, said, “Through Samarth, we aim to empower underserved communities by bridging digital gaps and enabling inclusive growth.” Since its launch in 2019, Flipkart Samarth has been pivotal in driving growth for MSMEs and artisans, fostering economic inclusivity across India.
