Coca-Cola India, in partnership with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), has empowered over 14,000 retailers in Odisha through the Super Power Retailer Program. Launched on October 15, 2023, by Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, this initiative aims to transform the retail landscape of the state by equipping retailers with essential skills.
Ved Mani Tiwari, CEO of NSDC, emphasized the program’s significance, stating, “We are invested in upskilling our retailers by building their capacity and capability. This partnership with Coca-Cola India will play a key role in equipping the beneficiaries with necessary knowledge to expand their businesses and enhance consumer experiences, ultimately strengthening India’s economy.”Irene Tan, Vice President of Human Resources at Coca-Cola India & Southwest Asia, highlighted the program’s progress, saying, “At Coca-Cola, we strive to create a conducive and enabling environment for retailers, allowing them to expand their businesses and enhance consumer experiences. Our partnership with Skill India Mission underlines innovative delivery of industry-specific skills in the retailer community, opening doors of opportunity for all.”
The Super Power Retailer Program offers training in customer management, inventory and stock management, and financial management. The participation of women in the program underscores Coca-Cola India’s commitment to gender diversity and boosting employment prospects.Guwahati market has also seen a positive impact from similar initiatives, with local retailers benefiting from skill development programs aimed at enhancing their business operations and consumer relations.
