The NCPCR hosted its grievance redressal bench in Haflong in collaboration with the ASCPCR and the district administration of Dima Hasao. This event was held on Government Boys’ Higher Secondary School’s ground with the goal of addressing breaches of children’s rights and advancing welfare programs. Rilanjana Talukdar and Dr. Shyamal Prasad Saikia, the IPS chairperson of ASCPCR, served as the bench’s chairs. The principal visitor was Donphainon Thaosen, executive member of the North Cachar Hills Autonomous Council. Thaosen commended the effort and urged departments to enhance awareness of important government programs. He emphasized how crucial it is to work together as a district to protect children’s rights.
Dr. Saikia emphasized how important it is for government services to reach underprivileged kids, particularly those who are dealing with issues like lost paperwork, interrupted schooling due to financial difficulties, or parental death. He promised that the Commission will take swift action to resolve issues that were still pending. Rilanjana Talukdar, a member of the ASCPCR, praised the large number of people who registered for the camp. She said that she hoped this project would guarantee that children’s rights will be better understood and protected in Dima Hasao. The event’s objective, to allow children to completely enjoy their rights as stipulated by the constitution and other legal regulations, was emphasized by Sangeeta Devi, ADC of the Dima Hasao district. The in-charge deputy director of social welfare, Rajdeep Kemprai, described the Commission’s attempts to protect children’s rights and promised to continue supporting them.
