On Tuesday, “Run for Unity” was organized in Haflong as a pre-celebration for Rastriya Ekta Diwas to pay honor to Sardar Vallabhai Patel on his birth day, along with the rest of the nation. On this occasion, the district administration and police planned a ‘Run for Unity’. The Assam Rifles, Assam Police, CRPF, NCC, sportspeople, and officials from other departments all participated enthusiastically. The “Run for Unity” was flagged off by NCHAC Executive Member, i/c Donphainon Thaosen, as the main guest of the program from Lal field and finished at Council Parking in Haflong.
Donphainon Thaosen, NCHAC EM, briefed attendees on Rastriya Ekta Diwas. He stated that commemorating Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary is a significant occasion to promote and reinforce dedication to preserving and strengthening the nation’s unity, integrity, and security. District Commissioner Simanta Kr. Das also emphasized the importance of unity and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contributions to India’s integration, followed by a speech by Superintendent of Police Mayank Kumar.
