According to the Alipur Meteorological Office, south Bengal districts may experience thundery rain along with gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph. The sky has been cloudy since Wednesday morning. Kolkata is drenched in light and moderate rains in some places.

The rest of the southern districts may also get wet with light rain. The Alipore Meteorological Department said the low pressure zone is extending over northwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas, from Jharkhand to south Assam. As a result of this, the water vapor from the Bay of Bengal will continue to rain over the state for the next two to three days.
