Assam Rifles seizes heroin worth Rs 4.04 crores in joint operation

In a significant crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Assam Rifles intercepted and seized 572 grams of heroin valued at Rs 4.04 crores in the General Area Nagdirgram, under Sonai Police Station, Cachar District, Assam, on May 2, 2024.

The operation, a result of actionable intelligence, saw a collaborative effort between Assam Rifles and Sonai Police Station. The joint team successfully apprehended one drug peddler in connection with the seizure.

Following the seizure, the confiscated contraband was promptly handed over to Sonai Police Station, Cachar District, to initiate further investigation and legal proceedings.
