Assam man arrested for multi-city thefts in Mumbai and Thane

Mumbai police have apprehended a 31-year-old individual from Assam suspected of orchestrating thefts in Mumbai and Thane, then retreating to his hometown to evade detection, as revealed by a police official on Wednesday.

The Thane city police, under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Shivraj Patil, disclosed the arrest of Moinul Abdul Mallik Islam, asserting their success in uncovering over 20 break-ins linked to him and recovering stolen goods exceeding Rs 62 lakh.

A specialized investigative unit delving into burglaries across Thane and its vicinity homed in on Islam’s involvement following a lead stemming from a theft case reported in the Kalher area in September of last year.
