The Assam Government has extended financial assistance of ₹5 crore to flood-stricken Tripura. The aid, handed over by Assam Cabinet Minister Jayanta Mallabaruah to Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on September 1, underscores Assam’s commitment to supporting its neighbor in times of crisis.
Minister Mallabaruah announced the contribution on the social media platform ‘X,’ highlighting the importance of the gesture. “On behalf of Hon’ble CM Dr. @himantabiswa sir, I had the honor of presenting a cheque of ₹5 crore to Hon’ble CM of Tripura, Prof. @DrManikSaha2. This gesture reflects our solidarity with the people of Tripura during the recent floods. The contribution from the Assam Government is intended to support the ongoing relief efforts in these challenging times,” he wrote.
This aid, directed by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, reinforces the strong bond between the two states. Tripura’s Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha expressed deep gratitude for Assam’s timely assistance. “Deeply grateful to the people of Assam and Hon’ble CM Himanta Biswa Sarma for extending a helping hand to Tripura in its time of need!
