Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma pledges support to BJP workers in Jharkhand

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has assured unwavering support to BJP workers in Jharkhand following the party’s defeat in the recent state elections. In a video message, Sarma reaffirmed his commitment to the party’s cadre, emphasizing their safety and morale.”The safety of our workers in Jharkhand remains our top priority. This friend from Assam will always stand with you,” Sarma stated, reflecting solidarity with BJP supporters in the region.

Serving as the BJP’s state in-charge during a four-month campaign, Sarma framed the electoral loss as groundwork for future victories. The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-led alliance secured a majority, winning 34 seats, while Congress claimed 16. The BJP managed 21 seats, with its allies AJSUP, JD(U), and LJP (Ram Vilas) adding one seat each to their tally.

Sarma also raised concerns over alleged infiltration issues in Jharkhand, urging the state government to act decisively. “The issue of infiltrators must be addressed,” he stated, signaling BJP’s intent to keep the matter central in its opposition role.
