The Government of Assam and Apollo Dialysis Clinics have expanded access to free, advanced kidney care in Dibrugarh district through the Pradhan Mantri National Dialysis Programme (PMNDP), strengthening healthcare delivery under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. The initiative operates dialysis centres at Assam Medical College & Hospital, Moran Community Health Centre and Naharkatia Sub-Divisional Civil Hospital, providing eligible patients with hospital-grade haemodialysis services at no out-of-pocket cost.
As of June 2026, the three centres have served 6,288 kidney patients and delivered 44,670 free dialysis sessions. Apollo Dialysis Clinics Chief Operating Officer M. Sudhakara Rao said the centres are backed by advanced infrastructure, experienced nephrologists and trained dialysis technicians, with a focus on extending quality kidney care to rural and remote communities through the partnership with the Assam government.
The Dibrugarh facilities are part of Apollo’s expanding Assam network, which now operates 72 dialysis centres across the state, with nine additional clinics ready for launch. Collectively, the network has served more than 20,000 patients and conducted over 12 lakh free dialysis sessions, highlighting the scale of public-private collaboration in the healthcare sector. Apollo Dialysis Clinics, with over 160 centres nationwide under Apollo Health & Lifestyle Limited (AHLL), continues to expand its footprint in specialised renal care across India.
In Dibrugarh, the expansion of specialised dialysis services is expected to reinforce the city’s position as a healthcare destination for Upper Assam. Improved access to quality renal treatment is likely to reduce patient travel expenses, encourage healthcare investments, support allied medical services and strengthen Dibrugarh’s growing medical economy, while enhancing confidence in PPP-led healthcare infrastructure in the region.
