Four patients were injured after a portion of the ceiling collapsed inside the Plastic Surgery department of Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) in Guwahati on Thursday, triggering panic among patients and hospital staff.
According to preliminary reports, a section of the ceiling suddenly gave way inside the ward and fell on patients who were undergoing treatment. The incident created confusion in the department as hospital staff immediately rushed to the spot and assisted those affected.
