Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya attended the Jagannath Rath Yatra Mahotsav organised by Shri Shri Jagannath Cultural Trust in Dibrugarh and extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the devotees on the auspicious occasion.
Conveying his greetings, Governor Acharya said, “Rath Yatra is a timeless symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage, spiritual values, social harmony and inclusiveness. The divine journey of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra inspires people to uphold the ideals of compassion, selfless service and dedication towards the welfare of society.”
Hailing the efforts of Shri Shri Jagannath Cultural Trust, the Governor lauded the organisation for promoting cultural awareness, social service and communal harmony in Dibrugarh and elsewhere.
He also called upon the youth to preserve India’s cultural heritage while embracing modernity and urged citizens to make cleanliness, environmental conservation and social responsibility an integral part of their lives.
Praying for the blessings of Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra, the Governor wished for peace, prosperity, good health and progress for the people of Assam and the nation.
