The three-day Annual Principals’ Conference 2026 of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS), Tinsukia Region, commenced on Monday at HM Resorts in Dibrugarh, bringing together principals from Kendriya Vidyalayas across four Northeastern states. The conference aims to promote academic excellence, administrative innovation, and the effective implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP).
Deputy Commissioner of KVS, Tinsukia Region, T. Preetam Singh, inaugurated the conference as the chief guest by lighting the ceremonial lamp. In his address, he highlighted the vital role of school leaders in shaping the future of education during a period of rapid transformation. Stressing the increasing importance of technology in education, he also underscored the need to instil moral values, discipline, social responsibility, and patriotism among students alongside academic learning.
The inaugural session featured colourful cultural performances celebrating India’s rich heritage and Assam’s vibrant traditions. Students of Kendriya Vidyalaya Dibrugarh welcomed the dignitaries with a melodious welcome song, followed by an energetic traditional Bihu dance performance. Over the next three days, the conference will focus on strengthening educational practices, enhancing school leadership, and promoting collaborative strategies to ensure quality education in line with the vision of the National Education Policy.
