Ju-Jitsu Association of Assam’s ‘Mission Doha’; Felicitates Achieving Players

The Ju-Jitsu Association of Assam has decided to launch an ambitious project named ‘Mission Doha 2030’. The main objective of this project is to identify, train, and prepare promising Ju-Jitsu players from Assam for the Asian Games to be held in Doha, Qatar, in 2030. To ensure proper implementation and monitoring of this project, MLA Ritubaran Sharma has been selected as the Chairman of the Monitoring Committee formed for the purpose.

Notably, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Ju-Jitsu Association of Assam was recently held in Tezpur. The meeting, chaired by Ritubaran Sharma, was attended by Vice Presidents Amal Deka, Madhusmita Hazarika Deka, Pranab Baruah, General Secretary Sanjay Kumar Shaw, and other executive members.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Executive Committee extended a warm felicitation to JJAA President Ritubaran Sharma on being elected as MLA from the Borsola Assembly constituency. The committee members expressed hope for greater development and promotion of Ju-Jitsu in Assam under his leadership.

The meeting also felicitated Ju-Jitsu players Juri D Phukan, Himangshu Saikia, Aryan Sharma, Atreyee Kashyap, Luiti Baruah, and Tannav Gogoi for bringing glory to Assam at the national and international levels.

In another important decision, the responsibility of hosting the Assam Open Ranking Ju-Jitsu Championship 2026 was entrusted to the Greater Nagaon District Ju-Jitsu Association. The competition is scheduled to be held in August next year, and it is expected to be conducted successfully with participation from players across various districts of the state.

At the end of the meeting, all members resolved to work together for the all-round development of Ju-Jitsu and for the wider promotion of the sport in the state.
