Assam Rifles conducts swift rescue and medical evacuation operation during Manipur violence

Assam Rifles conducted a swift rescue and medical evacuation operation following a firing incident in Kultuk village in Kamjong district of Manipur on June 11, saving precious lives.
Responding immediately to reports of gunfire, Assam Rifles personnel reached the area, provided critical first aid to two injured civilians, Kamminlal Haokip and Jangkhomang Baite, and ensured their timely evacuation for advanced medical treatment, an official statement informed.
One casualty was airlifted to Military Hospital, Leimakhong, while the other was transported by road for specialised care.
The prompt response highlighted Assam Rifles’ commitment to humanitarian assistance and the welfare of local communities, the statement added.
Two people were killed and six houses set ablaze in a pre-dawn attack launched by suspected Naga militants pre-dawn attack on Kultuk village.
