After trailing by 35 runs in the first innings, Guwahati concluded their second innings today, on the third day of the match, at 194 runs. Sumit Kashyap’s unbeaten 48 runs, along with Rajveer Singh’s 45 runs, were the notable contributions. Swarupam Purkayastha, who played an impeccable innings of 143 runs in the first innings for Rail, took 5 wickets for 56 runs. Abhilash Gogoi claimed 3 wickets.
Chasing a target of 159 runs for victory, the match became highly thrilling as the Rail team lost 3 wickets for just 59 runs. On the final day tomorrow, Rail needs 100 runs for victory while Guwahati requires 7 wickets. If a couple of wickets fall early in the morning session, there is a strong possibility of a Guwahati victory. However, at this moment, Rail is in a powerful position.
