Virat Kohli is on fire! He broke Shoaib Malik’s record to become the highest run-getter in T20

In yesterday’s opening match of the current IPL season against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Virat Kohli set two significant records. He broke a record previously held by former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik. Additionally, he reached another milestone as the first cricketer in the IPL to do so.
Kohli has now become the highest run-getter in the T-20 format among cricketers from the Asian continent, surpassing Shoaib’s record. The former Pakistani captain had scored a total of 13,071 runs in 557 T-20 matches.
In yesterday’s game against Sunrisers, Kohli played an unbeaten innings of 69 runs off 38 balls, overtaking Shoaib to set a new Asian record. The former Indian captain has now accumulated 13,612 runs in 415 T-20 matches.
Furthermore, Kohli achieved another feat in yesterday’s match as the first cricketer in the IPL. While chasing a target, Kohli reached the milestone of scoring a total of 4,000 runs (specifically in run chases). The 37-year-old cricketer once again demonstrated his exceptional skill in chasing targets.
